Cristina Martins, conhecida no universo artístico como Lapinhas, nasceu em Cascais em 1975 — e talvez seja por isso que a sua obra parece sempre carregar a luz, o ritmo e o mistério da costa. Desde cedo, construiu um percurso marcado por curiosidade, rigor e uma inquietação criativa que nunca a deixou ficar quieta.

Cristina Martins, known in the art world as Lapinhas, was born in Cascais in 1975 — and perhaps that is why her work always seems to carry the light, the rhythm, and the mystery of the coast. From an early age, she built a path marked by curiosity, rigor, and a creative restlessness that never let her stay still.
Lapinhas iniciou os seus estudos na Escola Superior de Belas Artes das Caldas da Rainha, onde mergulhou na Pintura e Escultura. Mais tarde, aprofundou a relação entre corpo e matéria através da cerâmica no CENCAL, e expandiu o seu olhar para o espaço ao estudar Design de Interiores no INEPI.
Cada etapa acrescentou uma camada à sua linguagem visual: cor + gesto + espaço + narrativa — uma equação que se sente em todas as suas obras.
Lapinhas began her studies at the School of Arts and Design Caldas da Rainha, where she immersed herself in Painting and Sculpture. Later, she deepened the relationship between body and matter through ceramics at CENCAL, and expanded her gaze into space by studying Interior Design at INEPI.
Each stage added a layer to her visual language: color + gesture + space + narrative — an equation felt in all her works.
